Warm up for Christmas children

Home childcarers are being urged to get involved with Save the Children’s charity Christmas Jumper Day on December 16.

The idea is for youngsters – and adults – to jettison their normal jerseys and keep warm in a festive jumper for a £1 donation to Save the Children. “From 3-D reindeer antlers, to head-to-toe elf costumes or handmade crafty sweaters, anything goes this Christmas Jumper Day,” said a spokeswoman for the charity. “In fact – the dafter the better!”

More information and details on a free fundraising pack are available here as well as some other handy tips on planning a great day including festive jumper themed bake sales and jumper karaoke. All money raised through the wacky-woolly-wearing extravaganza will help Save the Children carry out its work among disadvantaged children in the UK and overseas.
